When I first started out

What materials do I need for the class?
You will not need any specific materials for the masterclass. I'll share a list of resources on the class so you'll have an idea of what to buy to make your scent without wasting money.
I make skincare products, is this class suitable for me?
Yes! It doesn't matter if you are making perfume, room fragrance, candles or skincare - the techniques of creating a fragrance are the same for the scent bit.
I'm complete beginner, is this class suitable for me?
Absolutely! This is the best place to start so you have a clear idea of what you want to create and the materials you will need to make it.
I already make my own scent, is this class right for me?
Yes! If you are not consistently getting the results you want from your fragrance creation then the chances are you are making some of the common mistakes I will share in the workshop.
Hi I'm Karen,
I love sharing what I know and have the unique background of having worked both inside the fragrance industry (as an evaluator for IFF ) as well as inside the natural skincare industry (in product development and retail training for Neal’s Yard Remedies) since the 1990’s. For the last decade I have been independently teaching Artisan Perfumers like you how to create fragrances and launch their own perfumes.
Over the years I’ve trained a huge variety of people from all walks of life in fragrance creation. From buyers for huge brands, fragrance professionals, retail staff, bloggers, journalists, small business owners, aromatherapists, herbalists, fashion designers, artists, accountants, and the odd neuroscientist – most were complete newbies to perfumery.
My mission is to simplify and demystify the fragrance creation process for anyone who wants to make their own perfume.
